Description
Summary:Scholars of African Eclesiology have emphasized Tyconius' influence on St. Augustine. Someone pointed out that Tyconius was Augustinus ante Augustinum'. This paper is the first of a series of comparative studies, book by book, beginning with the Antidonatists, about the exegetical influences of the Donatist Tyconius on St. Augustine. In 'Conta Epistulam Parmeniani' one can see that St. Augustine chooses Biblical passages, fundamental to his argument against Parmenianus, which had been previously commented upon.
