Samenvatting:(déjà paru dans le Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, 27, 1988, p. 72-89). Les quatre études ci-dessus, reviennent sur les circonstances de cette conversion, sur la manière dont elle se produisit; pour trouver la paix intérieure, Augustin "had to set his sights higher (and deeper) beyond the embroilling relationships with mother, wife, career, friends and the shades of his father, relationships which he persued with such intense and schakling overcommitment; and he had to find, ant trust, that reality-God-which transcended and transformed these more immediate relationships".
