From metaphor to Theology: 'Prorium' and 'Translatum' in Cicero, Augustine, Eriugena and Abelard
Cicero de orat. 3,37-40 introduces the terms 'proprium' and 'translatum' in rhetorical applications, and Augustine doctr. christ. 2,6,7; 2,10,15 and 3,29,40 transforms these terms to theological applications (AnPh 1996, 1321).
