Description
Summary:Surely an appropriately full study of Augustine's view of time would include his examination of providential history and the theology of creation- that is to say of things in time- both from a philosophical and dogmatic vantage. In this paper I merely attend to his remarkable discussion on time in book XI of the Confessions, a discussion so complex and subtle that even with such a limited scope my essay has not critically exhausted his content (p.223).
