Notes:As Augustine's thought develops, the theological importance of the Christian community life increases, even though its availability for apologetics diminishes. The visible sign of the true church, the community of charity, which comes to be very important for Augustine, is no longer the concrete behaviour of Christians but rather their unity in the pracice of the sacraments.
