Summary:The Avenue Bourguiba reports focus on Late Antiquity from the 5th-7th centuries A.D. I,1: - The site and finds other than pottery- is divided into three parts: first a summary of the stratigraphical evidence from the site, which covered a 30 m. stretch of the Late Roman city wall and areas within and outside it, and discussionb of itsn wider significance for our knowledge of Carthage as a whole (with essays on aspects of the archaeology of Carthage to wich these excavations have made a particular contribution); secondly a detailed presentation of the stratigraphical evidence; thirdly reports on various categories of finds and specialist studies (including, for example, a study of some 14.000 fragments of animal bones - the largest group so far examined from an urban site in North Africa).
