| Riassunto: | The purpose of this international, interdisciplinary, and interdenominational collection of articles on image of God and gender models is to illustrate the gradual inclusion of women in fully human God- likeness, as realized by interpretation of Scripture through Christian tradition.
The idea of imago Dei is fundamental in theological anthropology, being a primary example of interaction between the concept of God and the definition of humanity. Nevertheless, the Judaeo-Christian doctrine of God- likeness has hitherto only sporadically been analyzed with explicit reference to male and female gender. Using human genderedness as the main analytical category, in the sense of combined biologically given and socio- culturally shaped female and male existence, this volume therefore presents pioneering research.
