St. Augustine's view of the original human condition in De Genesi contra Manichaeos

Augustine wavers between speaking of humans in their original state as souls and speaking of the as having bodies, a tension one might expect from an attempt to understand the earthy biblical narrative in the light of a highly spiritualized Neoplatonic philosophy.
