Description
Summary:Abstract : The article proposes four lines of study and research for future studies on Donatism particularly in ecclesiology and Sacramental Theology. Firstly, it considers that Donatism needs to be studied not only as a complement to Augustine's writings, but as a movement in itself. Secondly, Donatism was a movement that involved much more than what Augustine himself condemned as errors of the schismatic movement in his writings. Thirdly, Donatism was not a static movement, it had a past before Augustine, and a Nachleben after Augustine's death. Finally, Donatism was not a monolithic movement, so it is necessary to study not Donatism, but 'the Donatisms' that existed.
